Faith, Hope and Love Missionary Baptist Church has indeed had an interesting and spirit filled inception under the leadership of Dr. Willard Dallas, Sr.
God blessed a group of his children to meet together with the Canon Baptist Church on February 4, 1990. Pastor Willard Dallas brought the message for the 11:00 hour. After the service, the group met and decided to hold prayer meeting on Wednesday night, February 7, 1990 at the King is Coming Bible Institute. Sis. Bernice Calendar, president, made us welcome to their facility. Rev. Willard Dallas, Sr. and forty-nine saints met on Wednesday night in a very spiritual and heartfelt prayer service. Afterward the group met for a business session during which the Faith, Hope and Love Fellowship was organized by Pastor Willard Dallas, Sr. and the group.
On Sunday, February 25, 1990 the church was formally organized. Church organization took place at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and it was officiated by the late Rev. W.K. Jackson. The church started out with one hundred and six charter members.
On March 30, 1990 at 3:30 a.m., while in Norfolk, Virginia, the word of thee Lord came to Rev. Dallas and spoke to him concerning the mission of the church. The mission is printed on the back of each Sunday’s program.
Our church was initially housed at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Rev. K. Gerome Free and the Mt. Carmel Church family warmly welcomed us. We continued to use this facility until December 15, 1990. We renovated and moved into another facility located at 4201 S.E. 59th Street in Oklahoma City, OK.
Prior to moving to our present edifice located at 2727 S.E. 59th in OKC, our membership under direction of Pastor Willard Dallas worked diligently with our contractor/member, Bro. Roy Bowman to renovate the building. The floors were resurfaced, new church pews were built and the building was painted and decorated. Our first service was on Easter Sunday, April 19, 1992.
